Art of Life

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

-Lao Tzu

Sam is always busy in his life. His morning starts with work and again ends with work. He settles alone in the city far from the homeland for earning money for the family. His works are debited by the dream to make one strong cemented house. Due to a busy lifestyle and less attention to health, he suffered from the common cold and the boss of an office gave him two days of sick leave.

Sam is awake and the graceful sunshine welcomes his morning. Due to their leave, he cannot go to the office or do anything. Therefore, he is lying in the window looking in the field in front of his rented room. This peaceful scenario of farmers working in the field made him remember his life in the village. The farmer was milking the cow. He then with his family members was sitting next to the sun drinking milk. They look as if they do not have any hurry in their life. The family was spending their morning patiently sharing each other’s problems.

After his breakfast, Sam was again interested in seeing them. So, he again started perceiving their beautiful journey of life. It seems as if farmer’s children had left for school. Now, the farmer and his wife were irrigating, weeding, and doing other operations. He then compares his own life, which was just existence to earn money and hurry to fulfill the dream. He ponders that farmer might also have dreams like his; the farmer also likes to have his dream fulfilled.

Nevertheless, what farmer mattered the most was living with full swing and real existence rather than just existing. Thus farmer’s life taught Sam, “Lighten up, just enjoy life, smile more, laugh more, and don’t get so worked up about things. Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast- you also miss the sense of where you are going.” Now he committed to enjoying life fully but promised to remember his responsibilities either.
