BTS and Poetry

June 13, the first day of the concert, is a date with symbolic meaning for BTS and its fans — it marks the anniversary of the group's 2013 debut when it released its first single “No More Dream.” 

The journey of BTS has inspired millions and made us realize that no one is perfect, their music has given us hope, comfort, and strength, and most importantly their act of urging people to love themselves and speak for themselves is what makes BTS the best boyband existing out there.

There was a time in the beginning when the path seemed difficult for BTS, but look, here we are. With all those awards, performances, and world tours BTS has taught the world how music goes beyond language. And how it becomes a feeling — a feeling of love and compassion. I'm glad to be an ARMY. It's one of the beautiful feeling to know that BTS is there; loving ARMY does much.

As BTS took a break in 2021, and as an Army, I missed them already, I decided to re-watch the web series of BTS. All series are the best. But Run BTS is the icing on the cake for fun, meme, emotion, and many more. As I go on watching, Episode 56 of Run BTS; aired on 2018.07.24 is vivid; full of joyfulness and emotions. It shows the sincerity of BTS members; how they treasure each other. The most important thing about this episode is BTS poems for each other.

Jungkook wrote on the concept of gold as his nickname is "golden maknae". V also chose to speak to each member comfortably, using casual language and not using the word Hyung when speaking to the older members. Jimin's poem spoke about the difficult inner thoughts he has when he's with people, as well as the people he's happy to be with. RM used some interesting wordplay with "giyeok"- the first letter of the Korean alphabet as it sounds similar to the Korean word for "memory" or "to remember".Jhope uses the word "ssi" for his poems. Seed in Korean is ssi. In Korea, when calling someone respectfully, you add ssi to their names. They are spelled the same but have different meanings. Suga has spoken many times about how he became afraid of their success but is able to overcome it because he's sharing the experience with the members. His poem reflects his thoughts as well. Jin worked very hard on his poem up until the midpoint but he ended up writing something very Jin-like at the end. As we know, Our 7 treasures are full of poetic talents; let's see their poems written to each other.
